Deleting your account is not simply about uninstalling the app. It involves ensuring your personal data and funds are handled correctly. Check out a simple guide below on how to delete your WinZO account permanently.
Things to Do Before You Delete
There are two important things you must check before you delete your Winzo account which are as follows:
Withdraw Your Balance: Once an account is deleted, you usually cannot be able to recover any pending cash or winnings. Thus, you should withdraw your remaining balance by going to the “Wallet” section first and then withdraw your remaining balance to your linked bank account or UPI.
Complete Your KYC: WinZO’s terms often need you to complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification before you can officially close or deactivate an account. This is asked to prevent fraud and ensure that the person closing the account is the actual owner.
Method 1: Deleting via the App Settings
The easiest way to start the process is directly through the WinZO application.
- Step 1: First of all, open the WinZO app on your phone.
- Step 2: Then, tap on your Profile icon which is usually found in the top or bottom corner.
- Step 3: Then, look for the Settings gear icon or a Help & Support section.
- Step 4: After that, navigate to Account Settings or Manage Profile.
- Step 5: Now, search for an option that says “Delete Account” or Close Account.
- Step 6: You might be asked to give a reason for leaving. Select one option, enter your password or OTP if prompted and confirm your choice.
Note: WinZO may deactivate your account for 90 days first. If you do not log in back during this time, the account will be deleted permanently.
Method 2: Contacting Customer Support (Recommended)
If you cannot find the delete button in the app as app layouts often change, the most reliable way is to send an official email to customer care. This creates a paper trail for your request.
- Email Address: Firstly, send your request to support@winzogames.com.
- Subject Line: Then, request for Permanent Account Deletion (Your Mobile Number).
- Body of the Email: State clearly that you want to delete your account and remove your personal data.
- Example: “Hi Team, I want to permanently delete my WinZO account associated with the mobile number [Your Number]. I have withdrawn my funds. Please process this request and confirm once done.”
Why Should You Delete Your Account?
If you are not using the app, leaving it active can be a privacy risk. Therefore, it is better to delete. Deleting it ensures the following:
- Your linked bank details and identity proofs are removed from their active database.
- You will stop receiving marketing SMS and push notifications.
- It helps you stay away from real-money gaming if you feel you are spending too much time or money on it.
